“Past the Legal Limit” is the latest album from Revenge of Ricky Williams (Kentucky rockers & good peoples).  Its sassafras and kickin ass. Pam provides some edgy vocals and even though she might be wearing a hot little dress, she sounds like that wouldn’t stop her from kicking your ass while singing you a song about things like wolf t-shirts and pet goats.  “My Pet Goat” quickly became a favorite for me.  It put me in a mood to listen to some Dead Milkmen.  My favorite track on this album though would have to be “We Party ‘Cause We’re Alive” which is remarkably spelled correctly for a party punk band.  ;)  its a hot little number and reminds me of Death From Above 1979.  Its one of those songs that if you heard it as you entered a bar you’d go “fuck yea” and commence the revelry.
Overall, this is a strong album.  It seems more rock than punk (but i might be thinking that because i’ve been listening to a lot of hardcore/punk lately) and it even reminds me a little bit like rockabilly at times.  This album has me intrigued to see them play in NYC some day.  Make the trip, kids!
